Having Fun at the Dentist’s Office

Posted .

We know what it’s like to have a little one squirming at the dentist’s office. Trust us, we’ve been there, in our personal lives with our own children and in our professional lives. Here are a few recommendations you can use to make your appointment to our office a little easier, for you and for your child.

First, and perhaps most importantly, don’t pencil in a checkup during your child’s sleeping routine! A lack of sleep and quiet time will create a lack of sleep for you later as you agonize over a headache resulting from their hissy fits. You can also assist your child to behave a little more appropriately at the dentist’s office by giving them a tiny snack before their visit, but be sure to brush their chompers again if you do so.

Instead of feeding them treats while you wait for your appointment to start, save snacks until after your checkup. This will help our staff examine and clean your child’s teeth faster. Finally, breathe! We are used to working with children and recognize that getting the hang of visiting our office can take time.

If you would like to contact the practice of Drs. Trace M. Lund, dial 801-373-4200 now to speak with the Provo, Utah, Provo Pediatric Dentistry practice team. We will be happy to help provide the dental care your child needs for a great smile!
